A goalkeeper has no right to make a mistake.
He has a duty to come back from one.

The standards of elite sport, brought into the world of business. Deciding, getting it wrong, preparing, owning it, passing it on: what forty years in football’s most exposed position teach leaders and their teams.

01 — What your audience lives through

Decide fast, with what you have.
Then own it in front of everyone.

Your leaders and managers decide without all the information, get it wrong in full view, hold up under pressure and have to grow their teams. Those are exactly the four demands of football’s most exposed position.

Deciding fast

Choosing in a split second, on incomplete information, unable to wait for certainty.

Owning the mistake

Getting it wrong in front of the whole organisation, and having to perform again on the very next play.

Holding the pressure

Staying focused when nothing is happening, being ready at the exact moment everything is decided.

Growing people

Demanding without breaking, correcting without discouraging, bringing talent out season after season.

02 — Why the goalkeeper

The only player
who cannot hide.

The goalkeeper plays at the heart of a team, yet certain decisions and certain mistakes belong entirely to him. He acts in a split second, on incomplete information, with everyone watching — and he has to be ready for the next play. That is the daily situation of a great many leaders and managers.

Portrait of Gilles Fouache

Forty years spent preparing
women and men
for the moment everything is decided.

Gilles Fouache has devoted his career to football’s most exposed position: the one where a single decision can turn a match. A specialist goalkeeping coach, he has worked with athletes from grassroots football all the way to the World Cup.

Seventeen years with the French Football Federation, including coaching the goalkeepers of the France women’s national team, exposed him to the hardest parts of elite sport: pressure, public error, the obligation to go again. Internationally, he played a part in Saudi Arabia’s World Cup qualification, then worked with Tunisia at the 2026 World Cup.

He has just founded KIPURA, a goalkeeping academy, and passes that experience on to leaders, managers and teams who also have to perform when it counts. No football for insiders: lived situations and concrete bearings.

“Training a goalkeeper is not only teaching him to stop a ball. It is teaching him to make decisions under pressure.”

04 — The signature talks

Three talks.
One standard.

01 · Signature

Deciding under pressure

Making a decision quickly, on imperfect information.

Come out or hold the line: the goalkeeper never has all the cards, and hesitating costs more than being wrong. Gilles takes apart the way the best read a situation, strip out the noise and commit fully — then carries those bearings over to everyday trade-offs.

  • Reading the situation before it forces itself on you
  • Deciding without waiting for certainty
  • Committing completely once the choice is made
ForExecutives, leadership teams, operational managers, emergency professions.
02 · Signature

After the mistake

Turning failure into information and getting back to performing immediately.

At elite level, a goalkeeper’s mistake is public, immediate and irreversible. And the match goes on. How not to be crushed by it, how to analyse it at the right moment and perform again on the next play; and how to build a team where mistakes drive progress instead of paralysing it.

  • Separating emotion from analysis
  • The reset, on the very next play
  • A culture where a mistake becomes information
ForSales teams, project teams, managers, organisations that want to take risks.
03 · Signature

Alone, but not isolated

Individual responsibility inside a team.

The goalkeeper carries a responsibility no one can take for him — yet he never wins alone. A talk on the solitude of the decision-maker, on mutual trust, and on the voice that organises the team. An ideal way in for leaders and managers.

  • Owning it without shutting yourself away
  • Organising others through speech
  • Building trust in both directions
ForExecutives, managers, specialists, project leads, elected officials.
04 · Additional

The invisible performance

Everything that is prepared before the moment you have to deliver.

A decisive save lasts one second. It is prepared over years: routines, observation, repetition, managing energy and the mind. What the crowd never sees — and what makes all the difference on the day.

Growing your talent

Management, passing it on, trust and standards.

Forty years growing goalkeepers, from grassroots football to the World Cup. Demanding without breaking, correcting without discouraging, revealing rather than moulding, and passing on bearings that last.

08 — Why bring Gilles in

Not a talk about football.
A talk about your teams.

Your people are not there to listen to a coach. They are there to recognise themselves in situations he lived at the very top — and to leave with keys to their own working lives.

01

True stories

Forty years at the very top, told by the man who was there. Stories people remember for a long time.

02

Their own work, mirrored

Every story is brought back to their meetings, their clients, their decisions. No need to like football.

03

Simple keys

Concrete bearings and precise questions, usable the very next day, whatever the role.

04

Tailored, with real discussion

Prepared with you and adapted to your sector. A real Q&A with the room.

The outcome

By the end of the talk,
your teams will have…

  • stepped back from the way they decide under pressure;
  • learned to come back from a mistake instead of being crushed by it;
  • a shared language for talking about it together;
  • one or two concrete actions to put in place the following week.

10 — Frequently asked questions

What we are asked
most often.

Do you need to know football?

No. No technical references, no jargon, no names to know. Football is simply the material for true stories; what is passed on concerns decision-making, error, pressure and mentoring. The most receptive rooms are never the most sporting ones.

Will the talk suit our sector?

Yes, and that is exactly the purpose of the 45-minute preparatory call. Gilles gathers your context, your stakes and your vocabulary, then adjusts the situations and examples. A talk to an industrial leadership team looks nothing like a business-network evening.

What formats do you offer? Can it be done remotely?

Three formats: a 45-minute keynote, 60 minutes — the benchmark format — and a 90-minute talk and debate. Q&A is always included. A workshop of 2 hr 30 to 3 hr, for 8 to 20 people, can extend the session. Remote sessions are possible.

Where does Gilles speak?

Anywhere in France, and abroad on request. He is based in Le Havre, in Normandy, and travels to suit your dates.

What budget should we allow?

Every engagement is quoted individually, within 48 hours, according to the format, the length and the location. Describe your event and you will receive a full costed proposal, with no obligation.

What do you need technically?

A projector and a microphone. Nothing else.
